Hi Pam,
At the risk of enraging the purists, I have to ask: Is there any technical reason why Victorian cichlids can't be mixed with Malawians?

Hi GK,
Although us purists hate to mix locations, lakes, continents, etc. It is possible to mix Victorians with Malawians. But, just like mixing some Malawians with Malawians you have to do some research. First is diet, the Vics like a little meat, but your Malawian Mbuna don't, they should be fed stricktly green foods. So if you do mix, you will just have to put your Vic's on a veggie diet.
Even though they are smaller then most of the mellow haps from Malawi, they are more aggressive, and usually end up running the tank. They are not a good mix with peacocks.
