do tropheus actually use caves, or is it more of a territory thing? could i have a rock pile that they couldnt get in and have that work just as well as a cave?

Hi Steve,

In the wild the rocks are really huge, and so while there are areas where they can hide out, I don't really consider them caves. I think all fish like caves, but the problem with Tropheus and caves is they go in and never come out, so then you can't enjoy them as much. So I do think that rocks are better, because your tropheus will hang out around them, and you will be able to observe and enjoy their behavior much easier.
