I bought this fish at 1 inch long, it was sold to me as a red empress (i bought several and it snuck in LOL)He is NOT a red empress. He (i say he because he has since changed color) was a silvery golden, very shiney, and would display both a vertical and horizonal barring when stressed.

He now is 3 inches and has changed into a shimmery silver blue, this color is solid and unchanging on his entire body. He has developed tiny white speckles or eggspots along the outside edge of his anal fin. He has a rounded forehead/face like a c. moori and lips down low on the face and flat lower jaw also like the c. moori. He does not however have the c. moori blotches and never did. He schools with the c. moori and is in constant motion, he swims in a almost agitated manner like its hyper active LOL

Hi Cichlidgirl,

Man I have no idea what that might be. It looks like some kind of Protomelas, but then that one shot it does look like a moorii. Wish I could be of more help, but I can't positively ID it.
