Blue Kenya Cichlids
Hi, i was wondering how agressive blue kenya cichlids really are. I know that many species of cichlids are agressive, but i was recently at a local pet store and they had small blue kenya cichlids a little less then an inch long with very good colors. I have a community tank that has a variety of tetras, and loaches and was wondering what the chances of this cichlid eating or killing my other fish was?
Re: Blue Kenya Cichlids
Hi Bellingham,
The scientific name for this fish is Metriaclima lombardoi, the common name is Kenyi. They fry, juveniles and females are a beautiful blue fish with black bars. When the males mature they turn yellow with black bars. They are going to be too aggressvie for your tank, and they also will require different water conditions and diet. Sorry!
Cichlid Power!
