Hi Pam I just bought two bags of these fish, labeled Nandopsis Salvani. Is this a new member or were they mislabelled? Icluded (I hope) is a picture of the fish on the bag, the fry are too small to get a decent picture of. Hopefully you can give me an answer soon, and let meknow something about these fish, as they are currently living in a 50 gallon tank, along with a few Bristlenose plecos.
Thanks again Pam

Re: Nandopsis SALVANI?
Hi clangtry,
The genus for salvini has changed many times, like most Central American cichlids! They just can't seem to make up their minds exactly where it falls. Right now the current the name is "exCichlasoma" salvini. I am giving you a couple of links below so you can so some research. If these links don't work, then google the name and you will find plenty, since this is a popular Central American cichlid that is commonly kept by many hobbyists. Also you can just google; salvini and get quite a bit of info. While the genus may change, it is very rare for the species name to change.

Good luck, these are fun cichlids to keep and I hope you enjoy them!
