I have two black convicts, have always had 2 of them in a tank and they always got along.. all of a sudden one of them killed the other..is this normal?
If they become pregnant will they kill the other?

Unfortunately sometimes that happens. It can be when they want to breed, they are more aggressive towards each other. If the female was not responsive, or if you have two males, they can have it out. Even convicts that pair off and produce fry, the male may kill the female at any time.
