Localities: White Water Laggon (Belize, native), Candelaria River (Mexico, native), Caobas Lagoon (Mexico, native), Cenote Azul (Mexico, native), Lake Bacalar (Mexico, native), Lake Petén-Itza (Guatemala, type locality), Lake Lachuá (Guatemala, native), Miramar (Mexico, native), Cenote Escondido (Mexico, native).
It is a beautiful cichlid!
