Hi Pam - thanks for the help with the egg tube question. It went 'away' and the dolphin is still eating and active so I think it must've been a tube vs. a sign of something more sinister.
But I have a sort of a follow-up question. As I had mentioned, I had a couple fish with white feces so I started dosing with metro-soaked NLS. All the fish are eating and seem fine. I did 10 days or so of dosing and then decided maybe the NLS was just too much protein. I fed them algae a couple days in a row and they all ate it up and seemed fine.
This morning I decided to mix in some NLS and like clockwork, the two who had the white/stringy feces before had some a few hours later. They are two of my most aggressive eaters and have normal feces mixed in with the white.
So my question - could a fish exhibit white/stringy feces based on maybe a tolerance for certain foods vs others? These two eat like crazy so I'm thinking maybe they're overeating and having a hard time digesting it all or just maybe they don't handle protein as well?
I feel like 2-3 weeks without developing any other symptoms shows that maybe it's not a more serious issue and perhaps it's just a result of the NLS?

Re: White Feces
It's hard to diagnose something without seeing it. Which fish are showing the white feces? Sometimes it could be due to the actual food, or it can be a sign of stress. If it's only a temporary thing I would not worry on it. If it happens all the time, we need to work out the cause.
