Ctenochromis horei
Hey Pam I was wondering if you could tell me a little about Ctenochromis horei. I am having a hard time finding much on these guys. I'm wondering what would be a minimum tank size and stocking for them as well. I have read that they can be aggressive.

Matt,
This is a pretty cool Tanganyikan cichlid. They do best in groups with only one male, most people acquire 8 - 12 and remove the extra males. This harem mouthbooder will claim a territory among the plants in the shallow water when he is ready to court the females. That is one key to this fish since they live in the shallows they need oxygen rich water. Brooding females will retreat into the rocks. They need a primary vegetable diet, but also like to feed on invertebraes and other bugs. I would say your minimum tank would be 75 gallons but bigger is always going to be better.
Cichlid Power!
