Hello Pam,
I would like to ask you what are collection points of this three popular variations of Tropheus.
I have searched in "Tanganyika cichlids in their natural habitat 3rd edition" and didn't find this variations or location of this Tropheus.
Where do they fit in Ad Konings classification. Are they maybe part of T. moorii:
3. Inangu Peninsula (Cape Nangu, Cape Lupala & Northern kasaba bay West)
Tnx,
Gregor

Re: Tropheus Linangu, Nkonde and Musanga
Hi Gregor,
So sorry, I re-read your question, and hopefully this is a better answer!
As far as I know linangu, nkonde & musanga are found at Cape Nangu and the coloration is just a little different as you go around that shoreline. Many think it is just variation in the population. Importers will apply their own names, so it is hard to pin down exactly where they come from. But I do believe all three of these are found on Cape Nangu.
I have kept linangu and nkonde and they can be hard to tell the apart, which also makes me wonder if they are not the same fish. One thing for sure they are all nice!
Hope that helps...
