Hi Pam,
glad to bother you again
The Chinese hobbyists have been confuse with the "Cyprichromis microlepidotus Kasai", since we don't know the collecting point, we can only
check on the books, that we found it just look the same with the variant from the Milima, Kavala.
So we guess the 'Kasai' could be from these district or around ?
Where is the 'Kasai'? Is 'Kasai' a toponym ?

Hi London,
Unfortunately it is really hard to say. These days they make up names for a lot of the collection sites, there are so many collecting teams on the lake right now, and if they find something nice, they don't want anyone to know where it came from. So it is anyones best guess, there are also many different languages up and down the lake and fish and their names can be lost in translation.
It is best to keep them labeled as it came in, and hopefully someone can shed some light on it in the future.
Cichlid Power!
Pam
