Good day to all cichlid lovers out there and to Pam
here is my question
I've been doing my research regarding the habitat of gold severum. All I come up are they come from amazon rivers and drainage. However I've been asking what specifically is the river in the amazon they are talking about? I've seen my gold severum kinda sad. I am planning to imitate the habitat of this peaceful fish. Please I really need your answers. Oh btw, any suggested decorations for my severum tank would be much appreciated. Thanks:)

Re: gold severum
Hi Ichigo,
The gold severum is not found naturally, however it is very popular in the hobby, and it may be more aclimated to neutral conditions. Wild Severum are found in brackish water where the pH is very low 5.0-6.0. There exact locations include; Orinoco River basin, in the upper Orinoco River drainage in Colombia and Venezuela; Amazon River basin, in the upper Negro River basin. If you google these basins and rivers you can find out more about their natural habitat and also what fish are found with them.
They are fun to work with and a joy to watch!
