my gold severum's strange behavior

Post by Ichigo »

hello I'm here again!!!

I just wanted to consult my gold severum's behavior. My sev went insane lately! It keeps on digging a hole in the sand moves all my rocks on the side of the aquarium. My sev is acting like this for almost 2 days and I'm worried. My sev hasn't acted lyk this before. Is this normal or should I put medications??? Really worried

Hi Ichigo,

That actually sounds pretty normal for a severum. I am not sure how big your tank is, or if you have other fish in the tank or not? But digging in the sand, can be a territorial behavior where he is claiming his domain in the tank. Most cichlids do dig and if they are big enough to move rocks they will.

So all sounds good!
