Girorgio Chiozzi currently studies the fish genera Danakilia and Aphanius in the Danakil Depression of Eritrea and Ethiopia (NE Africa). His interests include field and museum ornithology and terrestrial mammals, with focus on coastal and island Eritrea. In particular, he studies the breeding biology of the Crab Plover (Dromas ardeola) since 2001. He is also interested in museology (collection management, exhibition design and visitor studies). Also, history of scientific exploration is one of his passions.
