Steve Bansee, who is originally from Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies, immigrated to Canada in 1985 and now resides in Manitoba, where it hits -45° C (-49° F) in the winter. Steve got his start in this hobby when he acquired a 25 gallon tank for his then 2 year old daughter. He got hooked and now maintains approximately 20 aquariums ranging in sizes from 5 gallons to 50 gallons.

Steve’s small fishroom contains a wide variety of fishes, including Apisto’s, Tanganyikan shell dwellers, Angels, Killies, Rainbows, Cory’s and some others. But his main interest is in Planted Freshwater Aquariums of which he has two that are up and running.

Steve is the editor of his local aquarium club, The Aquarium Society of Winnipeg, he is also a member of the Canadian Cichlid Association.

If you would like to see some photos of Steve’s tanks, go to www.asw.ca and look under the Gallery section.
