My 180 project - the fish

Ok, first let me preface this by saying this was my first Tanganyikan setup. Like most newcomers to
tangs, I wanted to stuff as many different species into this tank as possible. It took me six months to
build the setup, so I had a lot of time to research and select fish. I knew I wanted tropheus, but
couldn’t decide whether to go with Ilangi, or the duboisi since they had a reputation for being
easier. I ultimately decided to take the plunge and go with the Ilangi. My next three choices were
white calvus, j. ornatus, and gold ocellatus. (I know now the ocellatus weren’t a good choice.) I
was kicking around a final choice of n. caudopunctatus. Finally decided, why not, and added them to
the list also. The ocellatus did ok in the tank, but had no peace being with the rough and tumble
tropheus, so eventually went in their own setup. The other four species are together still, and it’s
been going on four years. Some pics and video links:
