Discussion about dwarf cichlids from anywhere

I got a pair of Curviceps (Flag Acara) at the local fish store and the owner said he thought they might be trying to mate. I’m not so sure WHAT they’re doing. At times they’ll swim around the tank without much interest in one another, but sometimes they’ll really color up and do this stuff: https://youtu.be/FSfo10lMkQY - trying to establish dominance? Mating behavior? Should I be worried? I’m trying to upload pics of each but the files are too big. Any help greatly appreciated?
Yes, it's possible that your fish are the same sex. It's hard to say for sure from video. In L. dorsigera both sexes usually show a dorsal spot. It depends on the population (there are several). The female's dorsal spot often appears as an ocellus surrounded by metallic pigment - but not always.
