Conservación: Air and water pollution are a risk to the environment since the human population in the area is growing rapidly. Fishing is the main occupation, and the government has reported a decline in fish populations in Lake Tanganyika. Tanzania has tried to curb overfishing with stricter rules and regulations regarding nets and tackle for fishermen, but they don't have the personnel to enforce them.
