Tanganyika: Kombe
Conservation: Overfishing is the biggest risk for cichlids at Kombe, as the fish populations have decreased drastically in the Zambian waters of Lake Tanganyika. While they are fishing laws and regulations, there is little or no enforcement.
Water pollution is not as big of an issue, due to the small population of the village. However, garbage is often thrown into the lake, and plastic is becoming an issue in many places.
