Tanganyika: Kekese

Conservation: Overfishing is the biggest risk at Kekese. There is no village there, and the human population in this remote area is very low. However, fishermen come from the north and south to fish there. They go for the open water and the rock-dwelling fish species. Even though there are fishing regulations in Tanzania, like the size of nets, the prohibition to fishing 100 meters from the shoreline, and others, they do not have the manpower to enforce them.
