Conservación: The lush and beautiful tropical forests in most of Guatemalan north are being cut and burned mercilessly to allow roaming space for cattle and wood extraction. Even step mounts and hills are not spared of this practice. The resulting washed silt and mud are present in the river bed, which visibility is low due to this practice.
