The Hernandrano (River of the Zebu) is a small coastal river, situated some 12 km north of the town of Fort Dauphin in the extreme southeast of Madagascar. Its swampy banks are fringed by a beautiful semi-aquatic vegetation, dominated by the giant aroid Typhonodorum lindleyanum and Pandans (Pandanus spp.). November 1998.Photo by Patrick de Rham.
