Tanganyika: Mwila Island (7°23'53"S, 30°35'29"E).
Artenschutz: The island hosts a population of the so-called Neon Boops, but during a visit in June 2016 was found to be affected by over-fishing of the ornamental fish industry. All colored males were much smaller than their counterparts at Nkondwe and Kamanda islands, sign of a recent extraction of most regular-sized individuals whose places had been taken by sub-adults.
