" The Fish Collection of the Zoology Museum "Prof. Adão José Cardoso" of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) is composed of approximately 15,500 cataloged specimens, preserved in a humid way. The specimens come from different regions of Brazil, mainly from the Southeast (~ 70%); of these, ~ 60% come from the State of São Paulo. The collection contains marine and freshwater fish and has been formed mainly by the work of Unicamp researchers. The cataloging and computerization of the collection is underway, using the MS-Access database manager. Specimens and data from the collection are available to accredited researchers, as well as consultation by undergraduate and graduate students, duly authorized and accompanied by the responsible curator or technician "
