by Juan Miguel Artigas Azas, 27-May-1996.

This 272 pages book contains valuable information about the Tanganyikan cichlids habitat and behavior in the lake itself, it is illustrated with two hundred color pictures and many more black and white never published before and mostly taken in the natural habitat of lake Tanganyika. Photographs are mostly authored by Ad Konings in cooperation with Horst Walter Dieckhoff and to a lesser degree some other photographers. Every known cichlid specie (at the time) is shown in a photograph either in the lake or preserved from the collection at the Belgium Museum for Central Africa at Tervuren.
