My favorite Tropheus tank setup

Sometimes it is helpful to see pictures of tank setups that have worked well for others. I have included some pictures of some of my tanks, many of them setups I have had in the past, but all would be adequate for a Tropheus tank

Tank size: 100 gallon.
Filtration: 2 AquaClear back filters with sponge inserts.
Heater: 250 watt Ebo Jager.
Occupants: Tropheus duboisi, Tropheus brichardi 'Kipili', Tropheus moorii 'Kalambo', Labidochromis caeruleus, Synodontis I have had in the past, but all would be adequate for a Tropheus tank.


Tank size: 180 gallon.
Filtration: 2 AquaClear back filters with sponge inserts
Heater: 250 watt Ebo Jager.
Occupants: Miscellaneous Lake Malawi and Lake Tanganyikan cichlids and large Synodontis.


Tank size: 100 gallon
Filtration: 2 AquaClear back filters with sponge inserts.
Heater: 250 watt Ebo Jager.
Occupants: Labidochromis caeruleus, Cyrtocara moorii, Astatotilapia latifaciata.


Tank size: 55 gallon
Filtration: 1 AquaClear back filter with sponge insert.
Heater: 150 watt Ebo Jager.
Occupants: Tropheus moorii "Lupota" and Tropheus sp. black "Kaiser II".


Tank size: 55 gallon.
Filtration: 1 Fluval canister filter.
Heater: 150 watt Ebo Jager.
Occupants: Julidochromis sp. "Chisanza", Lamprologus ocellatus.


Tank size: 60 gallon.
Filtration: 1 Fluval canister filter.
Heater: 150 watt Ebo Jager.
Occupants: Pseudotropheus saulosi, Labidochromis caeruleus, Clown loaches.


Tank size: 75 gallon long.
Filtration: 1 Penguin Emperor back filter.
Heater: 150 watt Ebo Jager.
Occupants: Tropheus duboisi fry, Labidochromis caeruleus fry, Pseudotropheus saulosi fry - great size for a grow out tank!
