Conservation: Diplotaxodon ecclesi is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (DD) data deficient (2006). Since Diplotaxodon ecclesi was common in deep-water trawls there seems to be no imminent threat to its existence.
