Conservation: Metriaclima emmiltos est évalué par l\'Union Internationale pour la Conservation de la Nature dans la Liste Rouge des espèces menacées comme étant (VU) Vulnerable (2006). Although the Mphanga Rock population is regularly fished for the aquarium hobby, I have not noticed a decline in population density over a period of about 20 years. The population density at Luwino Reef is much lower but these are not collected for the hobby or otherwise, and remains stable.
