Conservation: Haplochromis squamipinnis is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (LC) least concern (2006). Its extended distribution beyond the potentially threatened water quality of Lake George and the Kazinga Channel would lessen the threat potential to the species (Twongo, 2006).
