Conservation: Haplochromis laparogramma is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (LC) least concern (2010). Haplochromis laparogramma belongs to a group of bentho-pelagic fishes which were exposed to the Nile perch predation. It could be extinct in the lake as no recent collections has been recorded.
