Conservation: Crenicichla maculata est évalué par l\'Union Internationale pour la Conservation de la Nature dans la Liste Rouge des espèces menacées comme étant (LC) Peu menacée (2018). They are only diffuse threats identified in part of the distribution of the species, such as the exploration of coal minerals, which has been causing a decline in the quality of the species, or the capture during fishing sports, which can cause population decline. However, so far, these threats do not put their population at risk (ICMBio, 2022).
