Conservation: Perissodus paradoxus is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (LC) least concern (2006). P. paradoxus is encountered chasing its quarry on almost any dive near or over a sandy bottom in any part of the lake. It is so common that there is no threat to its existence even though it is easily caught in a net.
