Conservation: Amatitlania nigrofasciata is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (DD) data deficient (2019). A. nigrofasciata has been widely introduced in central Mexico, the United States (Florida, Hawaii and warm springs in western USA), and also in the east, in Indonesia and the Philippines (iNaturalist registrations).
