Conservation: Herichthys pantostictus is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (LC) least concern (2018). Herichthys pantostictus is very widely distributed and most of the localities where it inhabits remain in good conditions, so no foreseeable danger to the species is present at the time.
