Conservation: Neetroplus nematopus is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (NT) near threatened (2019). Most lakes and rivers in Neetroplus nematopus distribution range so far maintain good conditions as fish species are not considered threatened.
