Conservation: Otopharynx antron is not evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species. Otopharynx antron is a very rare species and has never been found locally common, but since it is a mainly deep-dwelling cichlid there is no visible threat yet to its existence.
