Male from Rio Madeira
A male of Apistogramma agassizii from Rio Madeira displaying in the aquarium of Frank Warzel [Germany]. If one considers Apistogramma agassizii a super-species, the fish depicted replaces the holotype form in most of the southern tributaries of the Amazon river, east of the Purus arch (Rio Madeira, Rio Tapajós, Rio Xingu, as well as the Rio Tocantins)..
