Artenschutz: Amphilophus sp. 'xiloa fatlip' wurde nicht durch die Internationalen Union für die Erhaltung der Natur (IUCN) in der Roten Liste bedrohter Arten bewertet. This species should be considered as vulnerable, since it is just found in the small crater Lake Xiloá, and apparently just in very small numbers.
