Conservation: Cincelichthys ufermanni is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (DD) data deficient (2018). Although Cincelichthys ufermanni has always been reported to be in small numbers, given the good shape of their habitats, which are found in large rivers in remote areas of Mexico and Guatemala, there is no immediate evident danger for the population of this species.
