Conservation: Alticorpus peterdaviesi is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (LC) least concern (2018). The species is not targeted by the ornamental fish trade. No threats are known, although there is the possibility of overfishing by the commercial trawling fleet in the southern part of the lake (Konings, 2018).
