Male in the aquarium
A male of Apistogramma resticulosa in the aquarium of Wolfgang Staeck [Germany], collected at the drainage of Rio Madeira 30 km south of abuna, Rondonia [Brazil]. This specimen is very much like the species holotype except for the lack of faint rows of spots on middle part of caudal fin. There are many populations of the A. taeniatus-resticulosa super-species that are subtly different. Photo by Wolfgang Staeck. determiner Mike Wise
