Conservation: exLamprologus calliurus is not evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species. exLamprologus calliurus has a lake wide distribution and is too small to play any role as food fish even though plankton-feeding males would be liable to be caught in nets. As far as I can see there is no threat to the existence of this species.
