Adult at Mtosi
An adult of Neolamprologus christyi at Mtosi, Lake Tanganyika [Tanzania]. Despite the presence of yellow border to the eye, reminding that of N. furcifer, this fish typically shows the shorter snout, smaller eye, plain color and body and tail shape typical of Neolamprologus christyi. Moreover, the presence of the very cautious N. furcifer over an unsheltered sandy substrate would be very unusual. Photo by Juan Miguel Artigas Azas. (12-Sep-2010). determiner Patrick Tawil
